Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data MatchMaker collects, why, who it's shared with, and how you can access or delete it.
01Who we are
MatchMaker is a Discord bot for competitive Fortnite matchmaking, operated by MatchMakerBETA. This policy covers the MatchMaker bot, the matchmakerbot.xyz website, and the Epic Games account linking flow used to identify your Fortnite account.
This is an independent product. MatchMaker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Epic Games, Discord, or Fortnite. For information on how Epic Games itself handles your data as part of your Epic Games account, see Epic's own privacy policy at epicgames.com/site/privacypolicy — this document only covers what MatchMaker does with your data, not what Epic Games does with theirs.
02Data we collect
We collect only what's needed to run matchmaking, verify your Fortnite account, and manage your subscription.

We do not collect your real name, physical address, or payment card details ourselves — card handling is done entirely by Stripe (see Section 3).
03Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. It's shared only with the services that make MatchMaker work:
- Epic Games — during the account-linking OAuth flow, to confirm your Epic Account ID.
- Yunite — for servers still using Yunite-based account linking instead of Epic OAuth, using that server's own Yunite integration.
- Stripe — to process Premium subscription payments. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, plus your subscription status.
- MongoDB Atlas — our database host, which stores the data listed in Section 2 on our behalf.
- Discord — inherently, since MatchMaker operates as a Discord bot and any command, queue join, or message you send through Discord is visible to Discord under Discord's own privacy policy.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the security of our service and its users (for example, investigating abuse of the matchmaking queue).
04Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you actively use MatchMaker in a shared server. Specifically:
- Profile and stats data (Epic account link, Power Ranking, placements) is kept until you unlink your account or request deletion.
- Queue, party, and match records are short-lived — cleared automatically once a match or party session ends.
- Subscription and credit history is kept for the duration of your subscription plus the period required for billing records, then deleted or anonymized.
- Server configuration is kept for as long as MatchMaker remains in that server, and removed if the bot is removed.
05Accessing or deleting your data
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or have it deleted at any time by emailing personalediting2@gmail.com. We'll confirm your Discord ID and process the request within a reasonable timeframe. Deleting your data will unlink your Epic account and end any active matchmaking or subscription benefits tied to it.
You can also unlink your Epic account or leave any server running MatchMaker at any time through Discord directly, which stops any further data collection from that server going forward.
06Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect stored data, including encrypted database connections and restricted access to production systems. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we don't store payment card details ourselves, which limits our exposure if something does go wrong.
07Children's privacy
MatchMaker is intended for use in accordance with Discord's own age requirements. We do not knowingly collect data from children below the minimum age required to hold a Discord account. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it.
08Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of MatchMaker after a change means you accept the updated policy.
